Our FaithThe scriptures
At D.B.C. we believe that the Bible, being divinely inspired in its entirety, is the inerrant and infallible Word of God; therefore it is the supreme authority in all matters of faith and practice. (Romans 1:19-20, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Matthew 5:17-19, John 16:12-15) The Godhead We believe there is only one living and true God, perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom, measureless in power, eternally existing in three Persons: The Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit! (Genesis 1:1-2, Genesis 3:22, 2 Corinthians 13:14) The Person of Jesus Christ We believe that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, was sinless in His life, and made atonement for sin by His shed blood and substitutionary death and then rose bodily from the dead and ascended to the right hand of the Father. (Psalms 148:5, Matthew 4:1-11, Luke 2:7,52, John 1:1, 1 Corinthians 15:45-47, Hebrews 2:16-18, 1 John 4:2-3) The Holy Spirit We believe the Holy Spirit came to convict the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgement; to witness the truth and to regenerate, indwell, seal, endow, guide, teach and sanctify the believer causing him to grow into the likeness of Christ.(Isaiah 40:12-14, Matthew 12:28, Acts 1:5, Galatians 5:22-23) The Total Depravity of Man we believe that man by nature and by choice is a sinner and is under the wrath of God. (Genesis 1:1,26-28, 2:7, John 17:5,24, Romans 5:20, Ephesians 5:22-28) Salvation We believe that God out of His love for man gave His Son so that those who by faith believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are reconciled to God and have everlasting life. (John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8-10, 1 Peter 1:18-19) The Church We believe that the church, with Jesus Christ as the Head, is the living and spiritual body of true believers and is manifested in the local church. (Matthew 18:15-17, Romans 9:6-8, Galatians 3:16, Ephesians 1:22-23, Ephesians 5:16-19, Hebrews 12:23) The Glorious Return We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ is bodily coming again to the earth to claim His own people, to judge the world, to vindicate Himself, and to set all things in order. (1 Peter 4:5, Romans 14:9, 2 Timothy 4:1) |
Our PurposeOur purpose flows out from our Lord's "everyday commission"
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." -Matthew 28:19-20 A Body of BelieversWe meet each week to exalt the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ, and intentionally seek to do this in every aspect of our worship, whether it be in our small groups, our announcements, our musical worship, or listening to God's word. We are devoted to sound biblical teaching from God's Word with an emphasis on life change.
We seek to bring people into intentional relationship with Jesus Christ, encourage their spiritual growth and maturity and helping equip them for service within our Church body. Meet our PastorMeet our Leadership TeamOther Like-Minded Ministries:
