Kenneth Monahan
Senior Pastor

Ken Monahan grew up in Eckhart Mines, MD in coal country.  Ken went for his post secondary education at Philadelphia Biblical University graduating with a degree in Bible & Pastoral Studies.  He also got his Master’s Degree in Biblical Counseling at Philadelphia Biblical University.  While attending PBU, Ken met his sweetheart, Cindy (Smith) Monahan, from New Hampshire, who graduated with a degree in Bible & Christian Education.  Cindy later received her Masters in Education K-12 and in Special Education.  Ken and Cindy were married in New Hampshire, June 1973.  They have four married children and presently, eight, wonderful grandchildren.

Ken accepted the Lord when he was ten years old growing in the Lord with guidance from his grandmother, mother, and pastor from his local church.  It was the summer of his tenth year that Ken knew God had called him to be a minister of the gospel.  He attended youth group, was a leader in AWANA, was a Christian camp counselor, was a Leader in Training under the headship of the elders, and did pulpit supply as he got older.

Ken and Cindy ran a retail greenhouse business for several years while serving as the Youth Pastor of True Memorial Baptist Church in Rochester, NH.  In 1980, Ken accepted a call to ministry as Pastor at Cambridge Baptist Church, Cambridge, ME.  He also served as Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church, So. Portland, ME before coming to serve as Senior Pastor at Dover Baptist Church, Dover, NH in 1995.

Ken has served as Vice President and President of the Conservative Baptist Association of NE, has served as a trustee on the board of New England Baptist Bible College, has served as a local Conservative Baptist cluster leader for twelve years, and presently serves as a member of the Pastoral Committee for Portsmouth Christian Academy.

Ken and Cindy reside in Somersworth, NH and enjoy the palette of seasons God paints each year.  They enjoy opening their home to guests and loved ones.  Ken and Cindy enjoy sharing God’s love in practical ways but most of all wish to share how God’s love brings eternal life to each person.

Romans 10:9-10& 13-“ …that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.  For  “WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.”
