Theme: Learning to Serve Like Jesus

Scripture: Ephesians 2:10, Matthew 20:28, John 11:41-42, Matthew 25:21

Intro: “You were put on earth to make a contribution. God has designed you to make a contribution with your life.” (Rick Warren)

Eph. 2:10 (NIV) -– For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Notice the word “workmanship”.

God uses 5 things to SHAPE you:

What does it take to be used and to learn to serve like Jesus?

1) Serving like Jesus means being _________________

1) Self-centeredness

2) Perfectionism

As human beings we tend to trip over ourselves on the way to serving God.

Barriers:

1) Comparing and criticizing

2) Wrong motivations

3) Serving like Jesus means being _____________________

How are we to be faithful?

1) Past

3) Difference between significance and prominence.

Conclusion:

Matt. 25:21 (NIV)
His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!’
