Dover Baptist Church is located in the city of Dover in the Seacoast Region
of New Hampshire. Dover is about a ten minute drive north from Portsmouth,
NH, 10 minutes south of Rochester, NH, 75 minutes west of Portland, ME
and 45 minutes east of Concord, NH.
From Rochester (North):
Take the Spaulding Turnpike (Route 16) south to exit 8E (Silver Street).
Follow Silver Street into town curving left then right, passing Woodman Park
Elementary School on the right. Go straight through the first stoplight (Arch
Street) and take any one of the next three lefts (Lexington Street, Cushing
Street or Belknap Street). Follow any of these three streets to the end and
turn right onto Washington Street. You will see Dover Baptist Church ahead on
the left. Take your first left (Fayette Street) immediately (10 feet) after
the church and park behind the church or in the Dover Post Office parking lot.
OR
Take Route 108 (Central Avenue) south from Rochester into Dover. Stay on
Central Avenue at the Week's Crossing with Applebee's and Pizzaria Uno. You
will pass: Shaw's supermarket, Shop N Save supermarket and the Douglass
Wentworth Hospital all on your left. Soon after you pass the U-Haul Rental on
your right, look for a "Y" in the road. Veer right at the "Y" onto Chestnut
Street. Cross the railroad tracks, go straight though the traffic light at
the Goodwill Store and cross the river. At the stoplight with the Dover Post
Office (large, tan, stone building) on the right, take a right onto
Washington Street. Go one block and turn right (Fayette Street) between the
church and the Post Office and park behind the church or in the Post Office
parking lot.
From Portsmouth (South):
Take the Spaulding Turnpike North to Exit 6. Take the first Exit 6 toward
Dover, not the second Exit 6 toward Concord. Follow this road (Dover Point
Road) north into Dover. This road will become Central Avenue and continue
into the center of town. After you pass the City Hall and Domino's Pizza on
the left, you will come to a stop light. Take a left onto Washington Street.
Go straight through the light at the intersection of Washington Street and
Chestnut Street. You will see the Post Office (large, tan, stone building)
with the church beyond it on the right across from you at this intersection.
Take a right onto Fayette Street between the Post Office and Dover Baptist
Church. Park behind the church or in the Post Office parking lot.
From Concord (West):
Take Route 4 east from Concord, NH. Continue on Route 4 through the Epsom and
Lee traffic circles. After the Lee traffic circle, take the Route 155, Dover
exit. Turn left at the end of the ramp onto Route 155. After crossing the
Spaulding Turnpike, Route 155 turns into Silver Street. Silver Street veers
left just past the turnpike and then right again next to the Woodman Park
Elementary School. Go straight through the stoplight at Arch Street and take
any one of the next three lefts (Lexington, Cushing or Belknap). Follow
Lexington, Cushing or Belknap to the end and turn right onto Washington
Street. You will see the church ahead on the left. Turn left onto Fayette
Street immediately past the church. You may park behind the church, in the
Post Office Parking lot. Additional parking is also available at the
Citizen's Bank parking lot across Washington Street from the church.
From South Berwick, ME (East):
Take Route 4 west from South Berwick. At the Oak Street stoplight go
straight. You will pass Philbrook's Sport's Store on the left and the Dover
Ice Arena on the right. Continue onto Route 4 into Dover. Look for a "Y" in
the road and veer left at the "Y" down a hill. Follow to the end. You will be
forced to turn right onto Central Avenue in downtown Dover. After turning
right, get into the left lane and turn left, reversing direction at the first
stoplight. After reversing direction, follow Central Avenue to Washington
Street and turn right. Go straight through the Chestnut Street stoplight. You
will see the Post Office (large, tan stone building) ahead on the right with
the church just beyond it. After passing the Post Office, turn right onto
Fayette Street and park behind the church or at the Post Office parking lot.
Additional parking is available at the Citizen's Bank parking lot across
Washington Street from the church.
